While James doesn't want to give his life story, I don't mind putting in a little more effort. ;)

  • I was born in California in March of 1971.  I'm almost never ashamed to admit that I was born in the 70's!  My family finally got me to Texas when I was about 4 years old and have lived in the D/FW area for most of my life. I graduated from the High School for Science and Engineering Professions (H.S.E.P.) at Dunbar in Fort Worth in 1989. I attended Texas A&M University when I met James during my freshman year.  We actually met over the computer.  For those of you who were "connected" back then, we met over "relay" one night.  James was a senior at the University of North Texas in Denton. After dating for 3 months, we became engaged and 9 months later we were married.
  • In 1992 we moved to Schwenksville, Pennsylvania (yes there really is a place named that) when James was transferred within his company, ICI Explosives. After 2 years, I was tired of all the snow, ice, and blizzards and we decided to move back "home" to Texas. Then, in 1996, we finally found the perfect house and moved to Valley Ranch. Shortly after that decision, we decided after 5 years of marriage that we wanted an addition to the family besides our dog, Snookie!
  • In February of 1997 we were blessed with a gorgeous red-headed baby girl, Jasmine Grace.  To see pictures of her, visit the About Jasmine page to get your fill.
  • James and I own our own business, Shoffit Information Solutions. James is a computer consultant specializing in SAP programming. He currently is working as at Daydots in Fort Worth, TX. My part of the business is desktop publishing. I work with several different clients providing both printed and digital promotional materials and whatever else may come up.
  • We are actively involved in the Maverick Region of the Porsche Club of America. I'm the former editor of Slipstream, their 32-page monthly newsletter. James is the former president of the region.
  • We were honored in 2001 with the National Enthusiast Family of the Year award at the PCA annual convention, "Parade." We were thrilled.
  • This past June (2005), I was awarded the 2004 National Enthusiast of the Year. Out of 52,000 members nationwide, I was chosen! I thought it couldn't get better than the family award. Boy, was I wrong!
  • James and I are avid Autocrossers within the club. I am the current Ladies Top Driver within the club and have been for the past 3 years. What can I say? We love driving fast!
  • In addition, I'm Jasmine's room mom at school, am on the board of the local PTO, and I'm the Girl Scout co-leader for her Troop 2776 (14 girls!). It keeps me busy, but I'm having fun!
  • I enjoy listening to pop and rock music, with the occasional foray into other areas, ranging from hip hop to contemporary opera. My current favorite artist is Josh Groban.
  • I'm enjoying improving areas of my life. For SELF improvement, I love watching Starting Over. For HOME improvement, Clean Sweep on TLC is fantastic! I've been going from room to room purging out a bunch of junk I no longer need, to the benefit of a local battered women's shelter. I used to enjoy Trading Spaces, but that's become a bit boring. Besides, seeing designs by Hildi and Doug scare me. Vern and Laurie are my all time favorites.
  • My favorite movies are an interesting mix. I guess most of them are romantic love stories, like The Sound of Music and Jerry Maguire. Like my music, I also tend to expand my horizons... Pulp Fiction being one of those expansions. ;) Movies like Shrek and Shrek 2 bring me back to center, in addition to the Harry Potter series.
  • Speaking of Harry Potter, I absolutely love reading the books. It's my favorite series, followed closely by Robert Asprin's Myth Adventure series. Science fiction and fantasy seem to be what I enjoy reading most.
  • When I'm not thinking of reading books or watching videos (hardly ever get out to see a real movie in the theater), I love to dream of traveling. We get to go to Whistler, BC every year to ski and visit my brother and family. January 2005 yielded our first trip to Hawaii (Maui), which we were very excited about! We had an absolutely awesome time thanks to friends, Jennifer and Kenny Hansmire. Kenny is the new chairman and CEO of Overtime Sports Pacific, the owner of the Hula Bowl. Jasmine is best friends with their two daughters, Kailee and Kelsie, and so they invited us to go to Hawaii with them. Spectacular event! We're hoping this next year's trip to Honolulu (on Oahu) will be even better now that we kinda know what we're doing!
  • We also choose each year to go to whatever the current site is for the annual Porsche Parade. We've been to Sacramento, Milwaukee, Boise, and Tampa (other than this past year in Fort Worth). My favorite location was this past June... Hershey, PA! FINALLY, I'll seemed to get my fill of chocolate for the week! It's about time!
  • Jasmine and I also quite often get to accompany James when he goes to trade shows for his company, Z Option. Las Vegas is a huge favorite, as is Orlando. We had a great time at the Disney theme parks. We also went to Anaheim, CA this spring. We went to Disneyland and related parks the week before the big 50th celebration started. It was a good thing because the parks were nearly empty and we got to enjoy everything!
  • My traveling dream, though, is to go to Paris (no, not Texas). One of these days I'll make it there. Other places in Europe like Italy and England would be nice, too, but France would be the coup de gras.

So, now I hope that's given you an idea of what things *I* enjoy.
